NORA is built on a single principle: we cannot access your data — not because we chose not to, but because the architecture makes it technically impossible.

1. What we do not collect

NORA does not require and does not collect:

Phone number
Email address
Full name or any identity document
IP address or geolocation
Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID)
Usage analytics or behavioral data

2. Your account

Your account is an Ethereum wallet address generated locally on your device from a 12-word BIP39 mnemonic. The private key never leaves your device and is stored only in the system Keystore in encrypted form. NORA has no access to it.

3. Messages

All messages are encrypted end-to-end with keys generated on your device. Network nodes relay only ciphertext and have no technical capability to read message content. Messages are not stored on servers; they live only on the devices of conversation participants.

4. Network nodes

Relay nodes see only encrypted traffic between participants. They do not store message content, contact lists, or metadata linking specific users to specific conversations.

5. On-chain data

The node registry is stored in a smart contract on the Base blockchain. This public record contains only network infrastructure data. No messages or personal data are ever written to the blockchain.

6. Third-party services

The app does not integrate advertising SDKs, analytics services (Firebase, Amplitude, etc.), or social login providers. The only external network interaction is with Base RPC endpoints to read the node registry.

7. Data deletion

Since we do not store your data on central servers, there is nothing to delete on our end. To delete your account locally, uninstall the app and clear app data. Without the 12-word mnemonic the account cannot be recovered by anyone — including us.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy is updated, the new version will be published at this URL. Significant changes will be noted in the app changelog.
